The City’s two new indoor pools at Clarkson Community Centre and Malton Community Centre and the six renovated outdoor pools were officially opened in June and July. Residents celebrated the opening of Clarkson Community Pool and Malton Community Pool on Saturday, June 18, each with an official ceremony followed by a complimentary Panera lunch, free swims, displays, local entertainment and activities. Approximately 1,200 people participated in the festivities. Applewood Heights, Lewis Bradley, David Ramsey, Erindale, Streetsville and Lions Club of Credit Valley Outdoor Pools officially opened on Saturday, July 9 and Sunday, July 10. The heat of the weekend fit perfectly with the resort-like settings of the renovated pools, each with spray features. Concerts, bouncy inflatable, reptile show, clowns and magicians entertained crowds in and outside of the pool enclosure. All City pools are now open for the summer season. |
