Creative industries are based on individual creativity, skill and talent with the potential to create wealth and jobs through developing intellectual property, the legal rights to ideas, inventions and creations in creative fields. Creative industry is experiencing rapid growth in Ontario and Mississauga is no exception.

This strategy reviews existing creative industries within the city and identifies actions to attract, develop, and grow the sector. It identifies economic opportunities within film and television, music, and interactive digital media sectors. Strengthening creative industries enhances the City’s future economic and social well-being and will contribute to a better quality of life for residents.
The City of Mississauga’s Creative Industries Strategy was approved by Council on September 14, 2016.
