After three years of construction, Burnhamthorpe Community Centre is now open and ready to welcome back guests to enjoy its many new amenities. Watch this video to learn more.
Top amenities
Our new aquatic centre features:
- 25-metre six-lane pool and rock climbing wall
- 91°F 20-metre warm water therapeutic pool with accessible ramp, lift and stairs
- Universal changeroom
- Dixie Woods Room which can play host to birthday parties or meetings
New programs include:
- Fun and lane swims
- Leadership courses
- Swimming lessons
- Therapeutic programs
- Water exercise
- Women- and girls-only programming
- Youth drop-in programs
Fitness centre hours:
Monday – Friday: 6:15 am – 10:30 pm
Saturday – Sunday: 7:00 am – 5:00 pm
The new fitness centre is now open and features:
- Cardio machines
- Weights
- Fitness studio with wood-sprung floor
New programs include:
- Exercise counsellors available in the weight room
- Instructor-led group fitness classes
- Personal training sessions

Burhamthorpe Community Centre has gender-neutral washrooms open to the public during regular hours. You can find them in the main lobby.
Applewood Heights Gymnasium has a newly refinished floor with lines for pickleball. Multi-purpose rooms are available for sports and group exercise classes including basketball, volleyball, badminton, indoor soccer and more.
