By-Law Enforcement

The staff in Compliance and Licensing Enforcement respond to complaints relating to violations of City by-laws including zoning, property standards, fencing, including swimming pool enclosures, business licensing, littering, dumping, noise disturbances and smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

The Compliance and Licensing office is located on the ground floor of City Hall, just inside the west doors of the tower. Staff are available to receive inquiries and/or complaints weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

After regular business hours or on weekends, the Transportation & Works dispatch office is available to receive complaints of an emergency nature at 905-615-3000.

Complaints may be filed by fax, in person, in writing, by telephone or by email using the link provided below. Please ensure that you include your name, address and telephone number. Complaints without this information will not be investigated. Your information will be kept confidential.
