City-owned EV charging stations

Find information about City-owned electric vehicle (EV) chargers.

We’ll continue to add more EV charging stations across Mississauga to support the transition to electric cars.

Locations and fees

The City has installed Level 2 EV chargers at the following locations. Most fees are charged by the hour or kilowatt hour (kWh).

There’s currently no City-owned Level 3 direct current, fast-charging stations. Find all chargers in Mississauga, not just City-owned ones, at ChargeHub or PlugShare.

Idle fee

All stations that charge by kilowatt hour apply an idle fee of $5 per hour starting 30 minutes after charging is complete.

There’s no idle fee between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. if the location allows overnight parking. The idle fee is applied if overnight parking is not allowed.

Parking fee

If you’re using an EV charger in a municipal lot or garage, you also must pay for parking.

All fees are subject to change.

Proper use of charging stations

Move your vehicle once it’s fully charged so that others can use the station.

As outlined in the Traffic By-law, you may face a $125 fine if you:

  • Park a non-electric vehicle in an EV charging space
  • Use an EV charging space for an electric vehicle that’s not plugged in
  • Exceed the 10-hour time limit

Report an issue

If you have an issue with the charging station, including not being able to charge or communicate with it, contact the station operator Flo or ChargePoint.

Call 311 if you:

  • Can’t access the charging station, including if it’s blocked by snow
  • Notice a vehicle parked in an EV-only parking space that is not charging
