Graham Walsh was selected as the City’s new City Solicitor and Director of Legal Services

The City of Mississauga is pleased to announce the appointment of Graham Walsh as the new City Solicitor and Director of Legal Services, September 16, 2024.
In this role, Walsh will report to the City Manager and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), overseeing all aspects of the City’s Legal Services team. Walsh first joined the City of Mississauga in 2012 as legal counsel and has since managed a number of key legal portfolios at both the City of Mississauga and the Region of Peel. Most recently he served as the Regional Solicitor and Director of Legal Services for the Regional Municipality of Waterloo.
Walsh holds a Bachelor of Arts from King’s University College, Western University, a Master of Arts from the Royal Military College of Canada, and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of Windsor the Faculty of Law. He has received the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal and the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers. Additionally, he serves as the Vice-Chair of the Municipal Law Department’s Association of Ontario and is an alumnus of the Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference.
Beyond his legal career, Walsh is a Lieutenant-Colonel in the Canadian Army Reserve and the former Commanding Officer of the Toronto Scottish Regiment. In 2010, he was deployed to Afghanistan as part of Canada’s mission to rebuild Kandahar Province.
