Nail and hair salons, barbershops, hair removal clinics, tattoo or body piercing studios and other personal services settings must have a business licence to operate in Mississauga. Personal services are those where substances or equipment is applied to the human body for esthetic or cosmetic treatments, or if there is a risk of exposure to blood.
You must be 18 years of age or older to apply. You also must provide the following documents and approvals:
A new licence costs $240.56. A licence renewal costs $216.95.
No HST is charged on business licence fees.

You can schedule an appointment to apply or renew your licence in person using our online reservation system.
Licences may not be issued on the same day, if more information is needed.
Mail your completed Business Licence Application, the supporting documents and a cheque payable to the City of Mississauga in the amount of the licence fee to:
