If you had flood damage to your Mississauga residence because of intense rainfall on July 16, August 17 or August 18, 2024, you may be able to apply for a one-time grant of $1,000.
Applications are open from December 2, 2024, to May 31, 2025.
To be eligible to receive this grant you must:
Only one grant will be issued per person, even if you own more than one eligible residence or you experienced flooding on more than one day.
Only one registered owner per residential address and one tenant per tenanted unit are eligible to receive a grant.
To apply, complete a grant application and submit proof of eligibility, including proof of ownership or residence and proof of flooding.
Submit the following documents along with your completed application.
If you’re applying as a registered owner, you must provide a copy of your City tax bill. The name on your application must match the registered owner on the tax bill.
If you’re applying as a tenant, you must provide proof that you live at the eligible residence. Accepted documents include a copy of your:

Complete applications will be processed in the order they’re received. We will contact you once your application has been approved or declined.
Grants will be paid in the order that complete applications are received, until there is no more funding available or the application period expires, whichever comes first.
It may take 8 to 10 weeks to receive your cheque in the mail from the date that you apply.
The City reserves the right to cancel, suspend or change the program at any time.
The City reserves the right to inspect an applicant’s residential dwelling upon reasonable notice to the applicant to verify the information provided in support of the application. Where access for such an inspection is denied by the applicant, the City reserves the right to deny the application.
If an application contains any untrue information, the City may deny a grant application or pursue all available legal rights to recover grants wrongly paid or fraudulently obtained.
The Commissioner of Transportation and Works has the final decision to approve or deny a grant application. That decision cannot be reviewed or appealed.
Personal information and supporting documentation is collected under the authority of the Municipal Act, 2001, and is subject to disclosure under the terms of the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. This information will be used to determine eligibility requirements for the grant program.
