Beat the Heat at Mississauga Spray Pads, Beaches and Pools this Summer

As temperatures continue to rise in Mississauga, why not beat the summer heat and visit one of the City’s spray pads, beaches and pools to cool off.

Spray Pads

The City’s has 25 spray pads that are now open for the summer season until September, weather permitting. Please note that all spray pads sites are unsupervised. Spray Pads open at 9 a.m. except for Lakefront Promenade Marina Park which opens at 10 a.m. For more information on spray parks available in your neighbourhood, please visit mississauga.ca/portal/residents/spraypads, call 3-1-1 or 905-615-4311 if outside city limits.

Beaches

Looking for a little sun and sand? Mississauga has three beaches open to the public. (The Region of Peel inspects each beach and tests the water a minimum of once per week.) Beaches are unsupervised and there are no lifeguards on duty.

  • Jack Darling – sandy beach areas as well as picnic areas with barbecues.
  • Richard’s Memorial – sandy beach areas as well as picnic areas with barbecues. The park also contains a water front trail, a rock  garden and a children’s playground.
  • Lakefront Promenade – sandy beach areas, playground, spray pad, marina, Wetlands, an extensive boardwalk, patio and grill.

Outdoor Pools
What better place to beat the heat than at one of Mississauga’s seven City-operated outdoor pools. Outdoor pools offer a cool escape on a hot day, a fresh air activity and a place to relax with family and friends. Every pool is safe and well-supervised with staff who are highly-trained. Indoor Pools

Want to enjoy the water year round? The City operates 11 indoor pools (Meadowvale CC pool is currently closed for renovations) that offer a variety of aquatic programs, drop in swim time and swimming lessons for all ages. For more information, please visit mississauga.ca/recreation. City pools feature a variety of amenities including slides, day lockers, viewing galleries, change rooms and showers.

Reminder – all indoor pools are closed on the August Civic Holiday Monday and all pools (indoor and outdoor) are closed on Labour Day Monday.
