In a spilt second, an emergency might happen and you or a loved one might be in need of blood.
Donors are always needed as blood is in high demand. In a few weeks, Canadian Blood Services (CBS) is also kick starting their annual Sirens for Life campaign that runs from July 1 to August 31. The campaign encourages first responders like police officers, firefighters, paramedics, emergency service workers and medical staff to donate blood.
On July 22 at 10 a.m., CBS will be holding their Sirens for Life kickoff campaign at:
Heartland Blood Donor Clinic
785 Britannia Rd. W unit 15
Mississauga, ON

MFES staff along with Fire Chief Tim Beckett will be donating blood. MFES is asking Mississauga residents to roll up their sleeves and get involved in Sirens for Life.
There are approximately 450 ml of blood in one unit collected. Putting that into perspective – a person who is seriously injured may need as much as 50 units of blood to stay alive.
Visit blood.ca or call 1-888-2-DONATE (1-888-236-6283) to make an appointment to give blood.
Help us spread the word about Sirens for Life. Use the hashtag #SirensforLife on your social media posts — Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
