Residents are invited back to Meadowvale Community Centre and Library to celebrate the building’s reopening. Residents now have convenient access to both recreational and library services in a more efficient and cost-effective space. Throughout the day there will be a variety of programs, activities and demonstrations for residents and visitors to enjoy.

Following the official ceremony, Ward 9 Councillor Pat Saito will be hosting a free BBQ with light refreshments, popcorn and inflatables. She will also have free commemorative water bottles for the first 500 visitors.

The $37 million renovation project has helped improve recreation and library programming, public accessibility and replaced building systems reaching the end of their 30-year life span. The 82,200 square foot facility features recreational and library spaces, programming and activities, which include:
The Meadowvale Community Centre and Library is also the City of Mississauga’s first Community Centre to pursue LEED certification, demonstrating the City’s commitment to building a greener and sustainable community.
The Meadowvale Community Centre officially opened in January 1982, and facility improvements were made to the lobby and fitness centre since that time. The original building was 43,500 square feet, including a pool, fitness centre with racquetball and squash courts, meeting rooms (including a large auditorium) and lobby space. It is one of the City’s facilities with the highest attendance in aquatic programs, memberships, drop-in swim programs and rentals.
