Pay property tax

You can pay your property taxes to the City of Mississauga through many convenient methods.

Pre-authorized tax payment plan

If you do not have overdue taxes, you can enrol in the pre-authorized tax payment (PTP) plan online to have your property taxes automatically withdrawn from your bank account, either in monthly withdrawals or on regular instalment due dates.

Enrol in PTP plan

Change PTP plan info

You can also submit your completed PTP application by mail or at one of our drop boxes, along with a void cheque. Follow the steps on the form to enrol.

If you move, remove owners or buy a new property, you will need to complete a new PTP application form. Your PTP is cancelled once property ownership is updated.

At your financial institution

Pay your property taxes at most banks and trust companies, either online or at your branch.

At a designated drop box

Leave us your cheque in a sealed envelope (made payable to “Mississauga Taxes”), in the drop box located outside the Civic Centre, to the right of the North Entrance, on Princess Royal Drive, or in the drop box located at the Cashier’s Desk on the ground floor.

Your cheque payment will be processed the next business day.

By mail

Mail your property tax cheque including post-dated cheques payable to “Mississauga Taxes” to:

Mississauga Taxes
PO Box 3040, Station A
Mississauga ON L5A 3S4

This address is for tax payments only. The cheque must include the roll number you would like the payment applied to and the stub from your tax bill.

By credit card

The City of Mississauga doesn’t accept credit card payments directly. However, you can pay your property taxes online by credit card using an online bill payment service provider. The service provider may charge service fees and and may accept only some credit card types.

The City of Mississauga receives only the billed tax amount. The City processes payment on the date we receive the funds, which may be a few days after payment is made. Refer to the service provider’s website for terms and conditions of their service, charges and payment processing times.
