Project overview
The City is adding new spray pads at Garnetwood Park (Ward 3), Lisgar Green (Ward 10) and Mississauga-Meadowvale Rotary Park (Ward 10).
These new amenities will provide water play opportunities and enhance visitors’ experiences in these parks, as well as provide relief in the summer from extreme heat events.
Construction is scheduled to be completed in 2022.
The development of the Lisgar Green and Mississauga-Meadowvale Rotary Park spray pads are made possible by the Government of Canada. Spray pads are a supported use within the City’s Parks and Forestry Future Directions Master Plan (2019).
The spray pads will include the following features:
- Accessible-for-all spray pad with ground level and vertical spray features
- Umbrella tables
- Seating
- Landscaping
These spray pads will be designed to meet accessibility standards, making them safe and inclusive for all.

What time of year do spray pads open?
Typically, spray pads are open by the May long weekend for public use and close around the last week of September. However, these timelines are weather and construction dependent.

What other amenities are being added to these parks?
In addition to the new spray pads, construction will also add umbrella tables, seating and landscaping to these parks.
