This is a City of Mississauga led project, in conjunction with Hydro One Networks Inc.
The trail will provide a new north-south connection in the city. It is part of the City’s plan to expand active recreational opportunities and to provide connections to other local trails, parks, bike routes and points of interest.
The trail is designed to meet the Accessibility Standards for the Design of Public Spaces, making it safe and inclusive for all.
Progress and updates
The City is seeking approval from Hydro One Networks Inc. for the trail in 2024.
View designs of the trail that were presented at public information sessions on July 6 and August 10, 2021:
- Atwater Avenue to Halliday Avenue
- Halliday Avenue to Brooks Drive
- Brooks Drive to South Service Road
Virtual public information sessions were held on July 6, 2021 and August 10, 2021.
Based on feedback we received during these virtual information sessions, the City has agreed to submit an alternative alignment for HONI’s review and approval, which is in progress. Please note the minimum time it will take for Hydro One to review the City’s re-submission is twelve weeks, depending on the number of applications they are currently reviewing.
Public notifications will be sent to residents within 120 m of the hydro corridor in advance of trail construction.
Please check this web page for project updates, or call 311 (905-615-4311 from outside city limits).
