It’s now easier than ever to borrow the eBooks and audiobooks you’re looking for thanks to a partnership between the Mississauga Library and the Hamilton, Burlington, London and Ottawa public libraries. Through this partnership, Mississauga Library cardholders can access 260,000 additional titles, including eBooks, audiobooks and digital magazines. In 2020, the library experienced a 48 per cent increase in eBook and audiobook use.
The partnership makes it easier for you to find the titles you’re looking for. It allows Mississauga Library cardholders to access more book titles, library materials and shared resources, while providing access to these materials from home in a digital format.
Through Libby by OverDrive, those with a Mississauga Library card can borrow and place holds on digital materials from any of the five libraries. If the title you’re looking for isn’t available at the Mississauga Library, you have the option to search for and borrow library items from any of the other four libraries’ digital catalogues.

Those who use the Libby by OverDrive app can add the partner library systems to their account:
After adding the library to your account, it will remain as an option until you choose to remove it.
Mississauga Library cards are free for those of all ages who live, go to school, work or own property in Mississauga. Those who are 16 years old or older can also register for a virtual library card to access the digital catalogue and many online library services.

Background
In April 2021, Council approved the City to enter into an agreement between the Mississauga Library and London Public Library to share digital catalogues through Libby by Overdrive, building on the agreements that already existed between Mississauga Library and the Burlington and Hamilton public libraries. Council also authorized the Mississauga Library to enter into similar agreements as opportunities were presented. This includes the Ottawa Public Library, which joined the partnership in June 2021.
