October is Small Business Month – a time to celebrate and acknowledge the contributions that Mississauga’s entrepreneurs and small businesses make to the local economy and to the fabric of our diverse city. As the City celebrates by offering webinars to help small businesses ramp up their online and social media presence, residents can join in by supporting Mississauga’s small businesses in October.
“Small businesses play a vital role in our city – they contribute to our economy, they help define our character, and they provide us with the most wonderful and diverse selection of services and treasures including food, art, esthetic services, clothing, gifts, and accessories – to name a few,” said Bonnie Brown, Director, Economic Development. “And of course, they have not had an easy time over the past few years. Our Economic Development team is providing some great webinars for small businesses throughout October to support them in building and enhancing their businesses. We hope you’ll join us in supporting them and letting them know we appreciate their important contributions to our city this month.”
As part of the City’s Economic Development Office, IDEA Mississauga is dedicated to the development and innovation of Mississauga’s entrepreneurial and small business community. To celebrate small business month, IDEA Mississauga is hosting free webinars for small business owners.

“Having access to the right resources, opportunities, information, and guidance, is important to support success for our small businesses,” said Bonnie Brown, Director, Economic Development. “With over 98,000 small businesses in Mississauga employing approximately 230,000 people and accounting for approximately 51 per cent of all employment in Mississauga, our small business community is an integral contributor to our city and we are committed to providing them with the supports they need to thrive and grow locally, nationally, and globally.”
Local Mississauga-based businesses are encouraged to take advantage of the free online webinars offered during Small Business Month, as well as all of the supports and services available at IDEA Mississauga all year round.
Mississauga residents are encouraged to make a special effort to support our small business community in October. Our city wouldn’t be the same without them.
