Mississauga’s Vision Zero Action Plan has 99 action items that span 5 focus areas. Each of these areas has an important role to play in reaching the goal of zero traffic-related fatalities and serious injuries. This Action Plan was developed to provide city staff with actions they can apply to their current, ongoing and future projects. Action 23 – School Crossing Guards: Continue the City’s crossing guard program and evaluate new locations.
Action 17 – Protected and Dedicated Cycling Infrastructure: Continue to implement the cycling network approved in the Mississauga Cycling Master Plan.
Action 78 – Automated Speed Enforcement Implementation: Roll out automated speed enforcement cameras in school zones and community safety zones to improve speed compliance.
Action 54 – Pedestrian Signal Timing: Update pedestrian crossing times and walking speeds at signalized intersections to provide more time for pedestrians to complete their crossing.
