Free Summer Events are Back at the Square

From May to October, Mississauga Celebration Square (MCS) proudly presents Feels Like Summer. Visitors will enjoy a variety of free events from food festivals and outdoor fitness sessions to movies under the stars and live music concerts, representing a mosaic of Mississauga’s cultural scene.

What to expect in 2023:

Festivals
Every weekend, the Square is home to some of the largest cultural events in the GTA featuring a wide array of live music, artistic performances and delicious food. Check the online event calendar for listings.

Fresh Air Fitness
Run, punch, dance and burn those calories away with Fresh Air Fitness. The City’s best instructors have crafted a season filled with your favourite muscle-pumping, high-energy classes for all fitness levels and abilities to enjoy. View schedule

Movie Nights
Grab a blanket and join your friends at the City’s biggest outdoor theatre. From nostalgic throwbacks to blockbuster hits, this year’s movie line-up includes wildlife, video game characters and superheroes. View schedule

Lions Farmers Market
Enjoy local food and produce every Wednesday. From farm country to City Centre, eat fresh and shop local this summer. View dates

Open Air Storytime
Watch stories come to life through weekly interactive live readings of children’s books. Taking place in the MCS Amphitheatre on Wednesday mornings, families are invited to join City librarians as they explore the wonderful world of imagination through stories, songs and activities. Learn more

National Indigenous Peoples Day
A celebration focused on National Indigenous Peoples Day will take place on Wednesday, June 21 from 12 to 9:30 p.m. Join the Miichi Sagiig Anishinaabe United Pow Wow in the afternoon, where everyone is welcome to enjoy traditional singing and dancing, hosted in collaboration with the Mississauga Nation. A ceremony will start the evening portion of programming at 6 p.m., where attendees can enjoy live performances, explore Indigenous art, music and entertainment, presented in collaboration with the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and headlined by the Godfather of Pow Wow Step, DJ Shub! Canada Day
Celebrate Canada Day on July 1 in the heart of Mississauga. The ceremony will begin at 4 p.m. and will include remarks from dignitaries and special guests. The event will run until 10:30 p.m., featuring an unforgettable evening filled with live entertainment, food trucks and a spectacular fireworks finale. Learn more

Amphitheatre Unplugged
Calling all Mississauga musicians, singers, dancers, poets and comedians. Join us every Wednesday in August from 7 to 9 p.m. in the MCS Amphitheatre for free open mic nights. Learn more

Love Local Music
Join us for live music under the night sky on Friday nights in September from 7 to 10 p.m., as local music curators present a series of concerts in the MCS Amphitheatre. Please note: tickets are required to support local artists and will be on sale starting August 1. Seating is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Learn more

The Porch
Created for those with a sweet (or savoury) tooth, The Porch, MCS’s outdoor patio, won’t disappoint. Located in the Market Trellis, food trucks will be cooking up fresh food at an affordable price. View food truck line-up

The Fountain
Suit up and head to the biggest wading pool in the city. Enjoy a day of fun in the sun steps away from the big screens, food trucks and exciting live events. View hours of operation
