Through its ongoing watercourse monitoring program, the City has identified segments of the river behind Kenninghall Boulevard and Plainsman Road that have been impacted by erosion and are in need of rehabilitation. The study will assess associated risks to infrastructure and properties, and develop remedial options to address any concerns.
Project objectives
The main goal of this project is to develop a restoration design for the Credit River which mitigates existing erosion problems and provides long-term stability to the river corridor.
Benefits
- Provide long-term erosion protection along the river banks
- Increased safety and protection for nearby infrastructure and property
- Improvements to the environmental health of the river while enhancing aquatic habitat and vegetation
- Opportunities for planting of native species, and enhanced wildlife habitat where feasible
