The City of Mississauga is pleased to announce Eve Wiggins as the new Director of Transit effective November 7, 2023. She replaces former Director Geoff Marinoff, now retired.
“I am pleased to welcome Eve to the City of Mississauga and our MiWay team – Ontario’s third largest municipal transit service provider,” said Geoff Wright, Commissioner of Transportation and Works. “I look forward to Eve bringing her extensive knowledge and experience to Mississauga’s transit system and working with the team to seamlessly deliver, enhance and expand our transit operations while continuing to provide a safe, reliable and efficient travel option with a focus on delivering excellent customer service.”
Reporting to the Commissioner of Transportation and Works, Wiggins will oversee all aspects of MiWay’s infrastructure and services that focus on planning and delivering a safe and reliable transit experience. Eve will also help bring on new services in the coming years with the introduction of the Hazel McCallion LRT.

Wiggins is an operations and service delivery executive with a broad range of senior leadership experiences including her most recent role as Vice President, Bus Services at Metrolinx where she developed and implemented a 10-year bus strategy for GO Bus and a three year transformation program focused on customer service, operational excellence and employee engagement. Prior to this, Eve was with the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) as Head of the Wheel-Trans Division and also spent 12 years with the Greater Toronto Airports Authority.
Wiggins holds a Master of Science degree in Airport Planning and Management from Loughborough University in the United Kingdom (UK) along with a diploma in Airport Operations Management from Georgian College. She is currently studying to become a Higher Ground Leadership® Pathfinder through the Secretan Center and also holds certificates in Management Strategic Agility and Negotiating for Success in Business from the Schulich School of Business as well as Coaching and Leadership from the Aitken Leadership Group.
MiWay is Mississauga’s transit service and Ontario’s third-largest municipal transit service. Serving a growing population of roughly 766,000 across 179 square kilometres in Mississauga, MiWay delivers express, local and school route services. There are about 500 buses in the fleet servicing 65 transit routes. By mid-2024, hybrid-electric buses will make up 41 per cent of the MiWay fleet. MiWay routes create economical and efficient transportation connections between popular destinations throughout Mississauga and connect with neighbouring transit systems including GO Transit, Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), Brampton Transit, and Oakville Transit
