If you’re looking for some action in Mississauga this summer, Visit Mississauga has got you covered! For the first time ever in Ontario, Visit Mississauga is proud to host the JACKALOPE Action Sports Festival from July 12 to 14, 2024 at Mississauga Celebration Square and Square One Shopping Centre. With skateboarding, bouldering (a form of rock climbing with no harnesses), breaking and freestyle motocross, along with live entertainment, delicious food and a pop-up marketplace, this free three-day festival promises to deliver thrills and excitement for attendees and athletes. Mississauga will also play host to the JACKALOPE Festival in 2025 and 2026, giving action sport enthusiasts further opportunities to come together and enjoy their passion in Mississauga.

“Mississauga – you won’t want to miss this exciting spectacle,” said Victoria Clarke, CEO of Visit Mississauga. “We are thrilled to partner with TRIBU to bring JACKALOPE to Mississauga over the next three years. Action sports are on the rise, especially since their inclusion in the Olympics. This is the perfect time to bring an event like JACKALOPE Mississauga to our city and provide everyone with the opportunity to experience these exciting sports in person. We invite everyone from across the province, across Canada and beyond to come experience the energy rush and dynamic culture of action sports at JACKALOPE Mississauga this summer!”

Attendees can watch talented athletes compete, and will also have the opportunity to try skateboarding, bouldering and other fun activities for themselves.

Programming for the festival includes:

  • Vert and Street Skateboarding
  • Bouldering & Breaking (Canada DanceSport National Championship)
  • BMX Flatland Competition & BMX Exhibition and Bike Competition
  • Motocross
  • Freestyle skate demonstrations
  • DJs, music, food trucks and more

“We’re delighted to be able to bring JACKALOPE to more Canadians. Our event is very popular in North America, and we’re very proud to bring it to Ontario. I hope Mississauga is ready for the excitement,” said Micah Desforges, founding president of TRIBU and promoter of the JACKALOPE Series. “We’d like to thank Visit Mississauga and the City for its warm welcome and great co-operation. We look forward to meeting Mississauga residents and experiencing something great with them.”

JACKALOPE Mississauga will feature some of the most exciting young names in skateboarding today. “Golden Ticket”-winning rising stars like 10-year-old Mia K, 12-year old Kenji Leon Jordan and Orapan Tongkong will compete in the JACKALOPE Mississauga Vert Ramp and Street Competition.

“For the first time ever, area residents now have the opportunity to experience and be inspired by extreme sports right here in the heart of Mississauga,” said Stephen Gascoine, Director of Square One Shopping Centre. “Square One is a vibrant community hub, offering diverse retail, dining, and entertainment options. The addition of the JACKALOPE Festival will bring an unmatched experience to our guests and our city.”

The full JACKALOPE Mississauga program, schedule and line-up of athletes will be announced soon.
