Canadians wait all year to enjoy the summer months, so make the most out of Mississauga’s seven outdoor pools and make a splash. Pack your sunscreen and towel and save the dates:

  • Outdoor pools open this Saturday, June 15 to Friday, June 30 (with select swims only in evenings and on weekends)
  • Regular season with starts Monday, July 1 to Sunday, September 1. Please check timings for each location as they vary.

Let’s Play in the Park

Join us for ‘Let’s Play in the Park,’ a drop-in program where spots are filled on a first-come-first-served basis. This free, half-day, fully supervised program for children aged 6 to 12, kicks off on Monday, July 2.

Park locations are listed online but it’s a good idea to keep an eye on the web page throughout June for more updates as we get closer to the start date.

Local fishing spots in Mississauga

Mississauga has many areas throughout the city where you can fish. Locations also offer nearby walking trails. Consider visiting:

Erindale Park – Try your hand at Smallmouth Bass fishing during the summer months. Ample parking is found in Erindale Park off Dundas Street.

Lake Aquitaine – Located by Meadowvale Community Centre, this lake is an excellent spot for young anglers. It has abundant panfish and bass (both smallmouth and largemouth). The lake is best accessed from the Meadowvale Community Centre on Glen Erin Drive.

Riverwood – Situated along the east bank of the Credit River and provides access to some great fishing spots.

Meadowvale Conservation Area – Looking for a quiet fishing area? Look no further. You can also enjoy picnic areas, open spaces, and a nature trail.

Streetsville Memorial Park – is a great place to wade into the river and try your hand at fly fishing. An ideal spot for rainbow trout as well.

Outdoor games

Do you enjoy some friendly competition? Visit Meadowvale Community Centre and Lake Aquitaine to test your game skills. There are outdoor backgammon, snakes and ladders and chess game tables available for you to enjoy.

Summer is an excellent time for some beach volleyball and volleyball enthusiasts to play at two City locations. Lakefront Promenade and Huron Park Recreation Centre offer beach volleyball courts to enjoy the sport and some sunshine!

Heading outdoors is great for our mental and physical health so it’s a good idea to carve out time when you can, to enjoy the many parks and facilities available to you in Mississauga!
