How to adopt
If you’re 18 years or older, you can adopt a pet by:
- Viewing pets for adoption in Mississauga
- Visiting the Animal Services Shelter to complete the adoption process
- Dog adoptions are only available by appointment. To schedule an appointment, call Mississauga Animal Services at 905‑896‑5858 ext. 3.
- Walk‑ins for cats and small pets are welcome during regular shelter hours.
All family or household members will need to be reachable by phone at the time of adoption.
What’s included
- Dogs and cats are spayed/neutered or have reduced spay/neuter fees
- Dogs and cats receive a first-year licence (at an additional cost)
- Dogs and cats come with a microchip implant, are dewormed and have received their first set of vaccinations (excluding rabies)
