Music 311

Calling local musicians! We want to feature your music on the City’s 311 lines.

The Music 311 program features local music on the City of Mississauga’s 311 call queue lines, during Council meeting live streams and on the MiWay customer information line.

When a 311 customer service representative is not immediately available to take your call, callers will hear a selection of local music by Mississauga’s artists.

The program showcases the talent and diversity of Mississauga’s musicians while helping to build new audiences. Music 311 also aims to enrich the caller experience by complementing the service they receive from Customer Service representatives with new musical experiences.

12 recordings will be selected per year. The City’s website will include information to accompany the program where the public can learn more about the featured artists and songs.

Eligibility Criteria

To reflect the diversity of Mississauga’s population and artistic communities, an adjudication committee will select the 12 recordings for each annual term. Eligible recordings must meet the following criteria:

  • The musician/group submitting must hold the copyright to the composition, performance and master recording.
  • If the recording contains lyrics, they must be suitable for an all-ages audience. Lyrics can be performed in any language.
  • The musician/group must be based in Mississauga. If a duo or group is applying, at least 50% of the members must be based in Mississauga.

Payment
Selected musicians will receive payment of $300 for a one-year term.
