Sam Mansfield

Sam Mansfield is one of the current Resident Artists participating in the City of Mississauga’s Resident Artist Program at the Living Arts Centre.

About the artist

Sam Mansfield studied Furniture Design at Sheridan College. Their thesis work Transsexuals Live Forever can be found here. Their Earthenware Side Table was a finalist in the 2022 Prototype Show at the Interior Design Show.

Artist statement

Sam Mansfield is a craftsperson using their interdisciplinary practice to explore the complexities and pleasures of queer objects. Their study of different crafts is born from the interest in how materials hold memory, tell stories, and create community. They make work in the hope that they can honour the people who they have learned from, in craft and in life.
