With Mississauga’s by-election for Mayor and Ward 5 Councillor approaching quickly, eligible voters should ensure they’re ready to cast their ballot.
By following these simple steps, voters can help ensure a smooth voting process on Monday, June 10. You can also vote early at advance voting locations on May 24 and 25, and June 1 and 2.
Check the voters’ list by visiting the Voter Registration Portal to make sure your personal information is accurate. Your information may be outdated if you’ve changed your name or address in the past few years. You can make all the necessary updates online or add yourself to the voters’ list. This will prevent you from having to fill out any additional paperwork at the voting location if you need to change any information.
Take some time to familiarize yourself with the official candidates: There are 20 candidates running for Mayor and 15 candidates running for Ward 5 Councillor. Voters in Ward 5 will vote for their Ward 5 Councillor and Mayor. Voters in all other wards will only be voting for Mississauga’s Mayor.
If you are on the preliminary voters’ list, you will receive a voter notification card in the mail. This card provides you with essential information about designated voting days and your voting locations. If you do not receive a card, don’t worry; you can still vote. You simply need to update your information at the polls or add yourself to the voters’ list. You can check the website to find out your assigned voting location.
