Celebrate the magic of winter at Light Up the Square this weekend

Entertainment and activities | November 21, 2023

There’s nothing quite like the magic of the holiday season. Mississauga Celebration Square (MCS) is gearing up to become a technicolour wonderland at its Light Up the Square event this Saturday, November 25.

This year’s celebration will kick-off the season’s winter festivities and includes the lighting of a 35’ Christmas tree, free photos with Santa and the opening of the City’s largest outdoor skating rink (weather permitting).

During the event, guests are encouraged to visit Biolumen by Radha Chaddah x RAW Design, a spectacular display of 10 luminescent pillars that will cast ever-changing patterns of light and sound across the Square. This display is co-produced by the City of Mississauga, Quartier Des Spectacles and the City of Shawinigan, distributed by QDSinternational that will make its world premiere at MCS. Additionally, six glowing outdoor public art installations will be featured at MCS and Living Arts Centre, across the street.

To help spread holiday cheer, there will be live entertainment all evening long by NorthFIRE Circus, The Digs, Rhythm Works, and more. There will be no shortage of sweet and savoury treats to enjoy at the Holiday Street Market by Street Eats, featuring artisan and food vendors.
