Background

The REDress Project

The REDress Project is an art installation of red dresses created by Jaime Black-Morsette, a multidisciplinary artist of mixed Anishinaabe and Finnish descent. The project was created as an aesthetic response to the thousands of Indigenous women and girls across Canada who have gone missing or were murdered. The empty dress is a stirring reminder of the missing Indigenous woman who should be wearing it.
