COVID-19 | March 1, 2022
Following direction from the Government of Ontario, the City of Mississauga will no longer require patrons using City facilities to provide proof of vaccination starting today.
In accordance with the Provincial Regulations, the City will also remove all active screening, capacity limits and contact tracing, however the Mandatory Face Mask By-law will remain in place until further notice.
“We want to thank Mississauga residents, staff and those visiting our city who have provided proof of vaccination before entering our facilities in an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19,” said Jodi Robillos, Commissioner, Community Services. “While the signal of removing proof of vaccination is certainly a step in the right direction, we have to continue to follow public health measures like wearing a mask, keeping a distance and staying home while sick to ensure we stay on the right track.”
Proof of vaccination requirements are being lifted in gyms and recreation centres, culture and sports facilities such as the Paramount Fine Foods Centre and Living Arts Centre as well as other city facilities. At this time, there are no changes to the City’s Employee and Volunteer Vaccination Policy.
