Flooding Public Information Session: how we prepare for floods together

Join us on Wednesday evening to hear from the Mayor, community partners and experts on how to prepare for and minimize the damage caused by flooding to our homes and communities.

Join Mayor Carolyn Parrish, City staff and community partners to help you better prepare for flooding and minimize the impact on your home and family. A public information session happening on  Wednesday, November 13, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga, where community partners and experts will share how to prepare for and minimize the damage caused by flooding to homes, properties and communities.

The City has arranged to have community partners attend with tables and booths to answer resident questions and provide solutions around preparation and management of future floods.

Flooding Public Information Session – City staff will take residents through the current challenges facing our City due to increased severe weather and outline what we are doing to help reduce the impact to residents, homes, parklands and businesses.

6:45 – 6:55 p.m.: Opening remarks from Mayor Parrish
7 – 7:20 p.m.: Staff presentation.
7:20 – 9 p.m.: Open market with community agencies

Parking

Parking is located underground at 4141 Living Arts Dr. From the parking lot, take the elevator to the ground floor to reach the atrium and look for the media sign in table.

Media

Spokespeople will be available to media following the formal portion of the event and will be arranged through onsite staff from the City of Mississauga.

Any media outlets planning on attending the evening can RSVP to media@mississauga.ca to ensure media have access to available spokespeople.
