Earlier today, Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services responded to a fire at 2869 Battleford Road.

On Sunday, June 5 Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services responded to a significant fire at 2869 Battleford Road in a multi-unit residential three storey. Extensive damage to roof and attic space. The fire has been extinguished. There have been no reported civilian injuries and one firefighter injury.
Thirty-six units have been impacted by the fire (fire, smoke and/or water damage). Residents impacted by the fire who have insurance should contact their insurance provider. Those who do no have insurance are encouraged to take a MiWay bus from the fire incident to Meadowvale Community Centre, or walk to the Community Centre where they will be met by social services, the office of emergency management, and the Canadian Red Cross. They will assist with co-ordinating shelter, food, clothing and medication where required.
Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services will remain on-site over night and will work with the Office of the Fire Marshal tomorrow to continue the investigation. The cause and origin of the fire remains under investigation.
