Gather Your Family Together for Some Family Day Fun in Mississauga

Monday, February 20 is Family Day. There’s lots to do across the city from recreation, sports, arts and cultural programs to creative activities. Bring along the whole family and try something fun together this weekend!

Activities at Recreational Facilities

Enjoy free indoor swimming, skating and family programs at select local community centres. Arrive early as programs are available on a first come, first served basis. Free virtual classes will also be available online on February 20. Learn more

Visit a City Park or Trail

Head out for a hike with the family, fill a reusable container with your favourite hot beverage and explore some of Mississauga’s scenic parks and trails.

When the weather allows, try skating at a natural ice rink or slide down a toboggan hill.

City Hours of Operation on Family Day 

City offices will be closed on Monday, February 20 for Family Day. Regular hours will resume on Tuesday, February 21.

  • Libraries will be closed on Sunday, February 19 and Monday, February 20.
  • Museums will be closed on Monday, February 20.
  • Community centres, rinks and fitness centres will be operating on a reduced schedule. Residents are encouraged the call the facility or check online to confirm the hours of operation, as they vary by facility.
  • Programming and camps: there will be no classes or camps running on Monday, February 20.
  • Public transit: MiWay will operate on a holiday service schedule on Monday, February 20. Visit miway.ca to plan your trip.
  • Animal Services Shelter will be closed on Monday, February 20. Officers will be on standby for emergencies and can be reached at 905-615-3000.
