Looking for Family Day activities for all ages? We’ve got you covered!

Monday, February 19 is Family Day and we’ve got a variety of activities to keep you and your family entertained while spending some quality time together. Check out what’s going on in Mississauga – from recreation, sports and arts to cultural programs, creative activities and entertainment – there’s something for everyone.

Fun in the heart of the city

Mississauga is an excellent destination to spend time with family and create unforgettable memories on Family Day. It has adventure, entertainment and fun for people of all ages. Explore outdoor activities, music and incredible live shows in downtown Mississauga all weekend long!

Celebration Square

February 17 and 18 will include free ice skating, a food truck festival, heated patios, music-themed movies on the big screens and musical play equipment for all ages to enjoy.

Visit the Square from 12 to 4 p.m. on February 19 to experience interactive drumming performances, storytime hosted by Mississauga Library, giant games in the Great Hall and more. Learn more

Living Arts Centre

Visit the Living Arts Centre (LAC) from 12 to 4 pm on February 19 for an afternoon of free family fun. Activities include face painting, large format games, an interactive dance floor, crafts, a family-friendly buffet at LIVE Restaurant and an artist marketplace. You can also spin to win special prizes for upcoming shows at the LAC at the saugaLIVE booth.

In Hammerson Hall, the LAC will host two performances of SAMAJAM – YOU are the Show. This fun and highly-engaging musical experience integrates the audience actively during the show. At $5 per ticket, you won’t want to miss it. Get tickets

Cheer on the Steelheads

The Mississauga Steelheads will face the Owen Sound Attack on Family Day at 2 p.m. Bring the whole family out and pick-up a Bobblehead giveaway! Get a ticket package for four

Burnhamthorpe Community Centre official opening

Tour the updated Burnhamthorpe Community Centre and take part in family-friendly activities on February 19 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Learn more

Free family activities at community centres and arenas

The following community centres and arenas will be offering free Family Day activities the whole family can enjoy together. There are swims, skates, stick and puck (three to 13 years), sport activities, Zumba®, Drumming Fit and more. For program details, visit Active Mississauga and search Family Day or go to the drop-in schedules and filter by participating centres listed below.

Family Day virtual total body workout

For those who want to be active at home, you can join us for a virtual total body workout that includes options to include the whole family. No equipment required.

Broken Promises

On now until Sunday, April 28, Broken Promises is a travelling exhibition, which explores the dispossession of Japanese Canadians in the 1940s.

Bradley Museum will be open from 12 to 4 p.m. on February 17 and 18.

Guided tours

Guided tours run on the hour between 12 and 3 p.m., Thursdays through Sundays. A variety of themed tours are available at both locations.

Visit a city park or trail

Head out for a hike with the family, fill a reusable container with your favourite hot beverage and explore some of Mississauga’s scenic parks and trails. If the weather cooperates, try skating at a natural ice rink or slide down a toboggan hill.
