Provincial Offences Court Proceedings in Mississauga to Offer Video Conferencing

COVID-19 | August 10, 2021

Starting September 1, 2021, video conferencing will be available for Provincial Offences Court proceedings in Mississauga, via Zoom. The Ontario Court of Justice introduced measures that restricts in-person public access to court proceedings. These measures were put in place because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Some court proceedings have already shifted to other remote options such as telephone conferencing.

A mailed letter about video conference hearing dates will be sent to those who received a summons or had their previous cases adjourned.

If you’re expecting a court date, please ensure that the Court Administration Office has up-to-date information, including current email and home address. To contact the Court Administration Office, send an email to court.admin@mississauga.ca.

These measures will remain in place until further notice.

As per the Courts of Justice Act, recording of court matters by video or audio is strictly prohibited without pre-authorization. In addition, protocol regarding the use of electronic communication devices in court proceedings remains in effect.

For more information, including instructions about participating in remote court, visit mississauga.ca/remote-court-proceedings.
