Several Mississauga parks experiencing flooding due to heavy rains

Heavy rains have led to flooding in several Mississauga parks and trails. Some areas of the Credit River are also experiencing high water levels. Credit Valley Conservation has also issued a Flood Watch due to the elevated water levels and concern for public safety. The City is advising the public to avoid these areas until further notice, as conditions remain unsafe.

The following parks and trail have been affected:

• Meadowvale Conservation Area
• Streetsville Memorial Park (including the trail on the west bank of the Credit River and the Island)
• Erindale Park
• Sawmill Valley Trail  (South of Burnhamthorpe to Collegeway)
• Credit Meadows (Harris Farm)

Water levels in local waterways including creeks, rivers, ponds and lakes have risen, increasing the risk of flooding. It is strongly recommended that the public stay away from all watercourses. Please keep a careful eye on pets and children and stay clear of these areas.
