June is Seniors’ Month and Mississauga is shining the spotlight on a range of existing services and programs to help older adults, ages 55+, make the most of their days in the city.

Here are some of the many planned activities in honour of Seniors’ Month:

Sauga Connections for Older Adults

Older adults don’t always need to leave their home to make meaningful connections with others or learn a new skill. Sauga Connections for Older Adults is great for those who want to enjoy free virtual programs during the weekdays. Enjoy online activities such as yarn crafting, guest speakers, and fitness classes.

While you can join these programs in June in time for Seniors’ Month, don’t forget, these programs are available year-round!

Here’s how you can participate:

  • Bookmark or save the Sauga Connections for Older Adults website
  • View the printable calendars posted on the right hand side of the web page.
  • Save the date! Make a note on paper or set reminders in your phone for topics or activities that may be of interest.
  • Simply, join the program when it’s time and enjoy!

Like most online programs, the City of Mississauga uses a third-party video chatting solution called Cisco WebEx Meetings for our non-active programs. For best results, please download and configure the Cisco WebEx Meetings application for use on your home computer, tablet or smartphone (iOS or Android). Fitness classes use the Zoom app and can be accessed on the app or your browser.
