Cooksville Community Ride

Hop on your bike and join us for a Community Ride!

Join us, July 20th on our family friendly ride on July 15 to explore the community of Cooksville. With a rich history, Cooksville is located just north of the Credit River and is home to tree-lined streets and easy-to-navigate cycling trails. The neighbourhood includes the spacious Queensway Trail, as well as, numerous picturesque parks located throughout the area. 

The Cooksville ride will start and end at Huron Park, with routes ranging from 8km to 16km, exploring cycling friendly roads and trails. Specific route details will be posted one week before the ride.

Can’t make the in-person ride? Don’t worry, every ride will be available for the rest of the year so you can explore your neighbourhood by bike whenever you have the time!

About the Community Rides program

The City of Mississauga, in partnership with Toronto Pearson, is hosting a series of free, in-person bike rides from May to October. They are the perfect way to explore your neighbourhood by bike and meet new people. Rides are designed with a variety of distances and all riders are welcome!

All rides leave the start location at 10 a.m. and will end with refreshments courtesy of our 2023 sponsor Toronto Pearson.

REGISTRATION PROCEDURES: There is an online waiver attached to your eventbrite registration which must be completed by each individual participant. Registrants must sign-in at the tent/table prior to the ride. Registered participants should arrive at least 15 minutes early to sign in. NOTE: Day of registration for this event is available, however space is limited and everyone is encouraged to register online beforehand to guarantee participation. If registering day-of, please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the ride start time to complete written forms.

CANCELLATION POLICY: If warranted by the weather forecast, rides will be cancelled. Cancellation decisions will be made by the end of the business day prior to the ride, and be communicated to all registered riders by e-mail, and posted to the Mississauga Bikes webpage. There will be NO rain dates or rescheduling for cancelled rides.

MINOR PARTICIPANTS: All participants aged 17 or younger must be accompanied by a parent/guardian, and must be registered separately. Children aged 6 and under must travel in bike trailers, bike-mounted child seats or on tandem-tows, and also need to be registered separately. Minors that are over the age of 7 are allowed to ride their own bike. Minors aged 14-17 may ride unaccompanied with parental permission. The adult parent/guardian must first be entered into the system, and then register their child and accept the permission statements.

BIKE HELMETS: All riders must wear a bike helmet when participating in City of Mississauga cycling events. Those without a helmet will not be allowed to participate.
