Experiencing Perspectives Exhibition 2023

The Museums of Mississauga and Mississauga Libraries are proud to present Experiencing Perspectives Art Exhibit, created by participants of DEEN Support Services.

Visit four Library locations (Courtneypark, Meadowvale, Erin Meadows and Malton) to check out the exhibition art from DEEN resident artists, and the interactive activity booth to experience what it is like to live with a disability.

In collaboration with artist Madiha Kazi and taking inspiration from their cultural heritage, DEEN participants experimented with various colours, textures, and art techniques to produce art representing and expressing their interests, environment, and cultural identities. One of the methods explored is block printing, a time-honoured printing technique originating from the Indus Valley Civilization.

DEEN Support Services (DEEN: Disability Empowerment Equality Network) is a leader in advancing community inclusion, offering culturally and spiritually relevant services for families and individuals living with disabilities. DEEN Support Services is a registered Canadian charity founded by Muslims with Disabilities. DEEN offers community-based programs and services in Mississauga, Ottawa, and Scarborough as well as virtual programming which is accessible nationally and internationally. It serves individuals with disabilities including intellectual, physical, and vision-related disabilities regardless of religion, language and culture, helping them realize their full potential.
