The Ring Seller

A story of a traditional Lebanese village where the life of ordinary people is turned upside down when the Mayor tells of a recent altercation with a villain called Rajeh.

The fictitious incident invented by the Mayor spreads like truth, instilling fear and causing chaos among villagers. The Mayor’s niece Rima is uneasy when she bumps into a stranger named Rajeh who insists on meeting with the Mayor.

In a surprising turn of events, the stranger appears during the engagement event. He confides in the Mayor that his visit brings hand crafted jewellery. The Mayor welcomes Rajeh as a good spirit who spreads the gift of love and a lifetime of hapness in marriage.

The play is presented in Lebanese with printed scene-by-scene synopsis in English and French.
