Natural ice rinks are located at parks across Mississauga. They open in late December or January, depending on weather conditions.
Rinks are closed for the season.
Natural ice rinks are maintained throughout the season by resident volunteers. Residents can apply to volunteer every year beginning in October. A minimum of 3 volunteers are needed to open a natural rink in a City park.
The City will provide supplies including boards, shovels, hoses, ice picks and signage by mid-December. Volunteers are welcome to start flooding once it’s cold enough. Flooding requires 3 to 4 consecutive nights of temperatures under -5 to -10 degrees Celsius.
