Place a hold

When you place a hold on an item, it will be saved for you when it becomes available.

You can place a hold:

  • If all copies of an item are currently unavailable
  • To pick the item up at another library
  • To reserve the item at its current location

When the item is available we will phone, text or email you.

You can hold up to 250 items at one time. All holds will automatically expire after two years.

How to place a hold

Using the catalogue

Use the online library catalogue to search and place a hold on an item. You can also choose the library you want to collect the item from.

If an item you wish to borrow is not in the catalogue, we may be able to order it through an interlibrary loan.

Using Overdrive or Libby

Use the Overdrive website or Libby app to place holds on digital items like ebooks and audiobooks.

You will receive an email when your digital item is ready for download.
