Food/drink and music
Please take any litter with you when you get off the bus. If you’re listening to music or using your phone, use headphones and keep the volume at a level that does not disturb other passengers.
Boarding and exiting
Board the bus at the front doors and exit through the doors at the back of the bus.
If you have accessibility needs, you can exit at the front doors.
Ride safely
When boarding, move toward the back of the bus. While on the bus either take a seat or stand holding onto a hand rail. Please stay behind the yellow line on the floor near the front of the bus.
Priority Seating
Priority seats at the front of the bus are reserved for people of all ages with mobility issues and other disabilities. All passengers are expected to respect the priority seating area, and vacate these seats for passengers who need them.
Service animals
Service animals or guide dogs provide essential assistance to a person with a visible or invisible disability. Service animals are allowed on MiWay buses. If your service animal is not wearing a distinguishable vest or harness you may be asked to show a letter from a registered health professional confirming it is a service animal.
Pets
Pets are allowed, but they must be leashed or kept in an animal cage. Exotic animals are not allowed.
Backpacks and belongings
When you board the bus, take your backpack off and hold it in front of you. When seated, place your backpack on your lap. For everyone’s safety, please do not place personal items, including bags, backpacks and shopping carts on the flat wheel well cover at the front of the bus.
Strollers and large articles
Strollers, buggies and other large articles are allowed on the bus when there is space.
Aisles must not be blocked for safety reasons. You are responsible for carrying your items on and off the bus.
E-scooters and Bikes
You are responsible for loading and unloading your bike on the bus bike rack, which can carry up to two bicycles. E-scooters are allowed on MiWay buses when there is space. Aisles must not be blocked.
Smoking
Smoking or vaping is not permitted on MiWay buses, at bus stops or at bus terminals.
Alcohol and hazardous substances
Toxic, flammable or hazardous substances are not permitted on MiWay buses, at bus stops or at bus terminals. Consuming alcohol or illegal drugs is not permitted on MiWay buses, at bus stops or at bus terminals.
Clothing and sports gear
Shirts and shoes must be worn on board all buses. You are not allowed to wear in-line skates, roller skates, ice skates or use a skateboard or e-scooter on a bus, in a bus shelter or at bus terminals.
Transit wave
If you’re waiting to board a MiWay bus in Etobicoke, Brampton or Oakville, you must wave to alert the MiWay Transit Operator that you’re waiting. Be sure to wave early enough to allow the operator time to come to a safe stop.
