Service Changes start on Monday, Sept. 2

The new Route 126 Burnhamthorpe Express will provide service at key stops between the University of Toronto Mississauga and the Kipling Bus Terminal in Toronto. There will be service increases on several routes, platform changes at Meadowvale Town Centre Transit Terminal, schedule changes on some routes and Routes 76 and 87 will be cancelled due to service duplication.

New Route 126 Burnhamthorpe Express

The new Route 126 Burnhamthorpe Express will service key stops between the University of Toronto Mississauga and the Kipling Bus Terminal in Toronto, on Burnhamthorpe Road in Mississauga and Dundas Street in Toronto.

This weekday route will operate every 16-17 minutes during the morning and afternoon peak periods. This new express route will complement the existing Route 26 Burnhamthorpe service, which will have improved weekday and weekend service frequencies.

This route will service key stops, including:

  • Dundas Street at East Mall Crescent (in Toronto)
  • Burnhamthorpe Road at The West Mall
  • Burnhamthorpe Road at Ponytrail Drive
  • Burnhamthorpe Road at Dixie Road
  • Burnhamthorpe Road at Tomken Road
  • Burnhamthorpe Road at Cawthra Road
  • Burnhamthorpe Road at Central Parkway East
  • Burnhamthorpe Road at Hurontario Street
  • Burnhamthorpe Road at Duke of York Boulevard
  • Burnhamthorpe Road at Confederation Parkway
  • Burnhamthorpe Road at Mavis Road
  • Burnhamthorpe Road at Creditview Road/Central Parkway West

With the introduction of the Route 126 Burnhamthorpe Express, Route 76 Burnhamthorpe will be cancelled due to service duplication.

Service improvements due to increased ridership demand

Due to increased ridership demand the routes below will have improved service.

  • 5 Dixie (weekdays)
  • 26 Burnhamthorpe (weekdays, Saturday and Sunday)
  • 35 Eglinton (weekdays, Saturday and Sunday)
  • 42 Derry (Saturday and Sunday)
  • 43 Matheson (weekdays)
  • 44 Mississauga Road (weekdays)
  • 110 University Express (weekdays)

Route cancellations due to service duplication

The routes listed below will be cancelled due to service duplication with other routes. Resources from these routes will be reallocated to other routes where ridership demand is increasing and incidents of overcrowding are occurring.

  • 76 Burnhamthorpe: customers who use this route can instead take either the 26 Burnhamthorpe (with improved service) or the new 126 Burnhamthorpe Express to travel along Burnhamthorpe Road to the Kipling Bus Terminal in Toronto.
  • 87 Skymark: customers who use this route can instead take the 35 Eglinton to travel along Eglinton Avenue, 38 Creditview to travel along Creditview Road, or 39 Britannia to travel to destinations on Britannia Road and access Meadowvale Town Centre.

Platform changes at Meadowvale Town Centre Transit Terminal

Route 42 Derry will move from Platform H (stop #0919) to Platform I (stop #1374) and Routes 43 Matheson and 46 Tenth Line will move from Platform I (stop #1374) to Platform H (stop #0919) at Meadowvale Town Centre Transit Terminal. This change will better accommodate larger articulated buses and improve safety for customers boarding these routes within the terminal.

Schedule adjustments

Schedule adjustments will be made on the routes below to improve service reliability as traffic and ridership patterns continue to evolve throughout the city.

MiWay will make further schedule adjustments as needed to ensure that services remain responsive to customer needs.

  • 8 Cawthra (weekdays and Saturday)
  • 9 Rathburn (weekdays, Saturday and Sunday)
  • 10 Bristol (Saturday and Sunday)
  • 28 Confederation (weekdays, Saturday and Sunday)
  • 44 Mississauga Road (Saturday and Sunday)
  • 46 Tenth Line (weekdays, Saturday and Sunday)
  • 68 Terry Fox (weekdays, Saturday and Sunday)

Holiday service

On Labour Day, Monday, Sept. 2, MiWay will operate on a regular Sunday schedule.

On Thanksgiving Day, Monday, Oct. 14, MiWay will operate on a regular Sunday schedule.

The Information and Fares booths at the City Centre Transit Terminal will be closed. Customers can call MiWay Customer Service at 905-615-4636 from 9:30 am to 5 pm.
