Picnic permit

Learn how you can enjoy the City’s park picnic sites and amenities, which include accessible seating.

To request a picnic permit for the 2025 season, complete the facility rental request form.

Bookings for large groups

You can book picnics for groups of 25 or more in any of our sheltered or open area picnic locations:

Bookings for small groups

You can book picnic areas at Community Common Park, Lake Aquitaine Park and J.C. Saddington Park for small groups of 25 people or less.

At these locations, you can book hourly time slots and reserve up to three orange-coloured picnic tables. Each table can comfortably seat six to eight people.

Permit requests for older adult groups

Registered older adult groups in good standing with the Community Group Registry Program can receive weekday (Monday to Friday) picnic bookings at no cost. These bookings are available at 12 selected park locations from July 2 to August 30, 2024. Eligible groups can book a half-day time slot of either 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. or 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Setup and cleanup for your booking must occur within these time slots.
