Fred Halliday Park

The City completed park improvements to Fred Halliday Park.

Overview

In 2022, the City added outdoor fitness equipment to Fred Halliday Park (Ward 1). Funding by the Government of Canada has been allocated for this project by the Ward 1 Councillor.

The outdoor fitness area will include the following features:

  • Stationary fitness equipment
  • Instructional exercise signage
  • Safety surfacing
  • Accessible connections to existing park trails

These improvements will enhance visitors’ experiences in the park and provide outdoor recreation and fitness opportunities in support of active lifestyles. Outdoor fitness is a supported use within the City’s Parks and Forestry Future Directions Master Plan (2019).
