The fitness improvements are funded, in part, by the Government of Canada and were completed in 2023.
The fitness trail spans just under 1 km and include the following features:
- Bench fitness stations
- Sprint track
- Trail distance markings
- Fitness obstacle course, the first in Mississauga
- Seating
- Interpretive signage and seating area at Fletcher’s Creek pedestrian bridge crossing
- Bike parking
- Bike repair station
These improvements will enhance visitors’ experiences along the trail and provide outdoor recreation and fitness opportunities in support of active lifestyles. Outdoor fitness is a supported use within the City’s Parks and Forestry Future Directions Master Plan (2019).

This fitness trail has a series of exercise activity stations that are installed along a route. Users can run, jog or walk from station to station, performing the exercise activities along the way. Activities can include stretching, rotating, balancing and repetition to challenge strength, speed, endurance and agility.
A fitness obstacle course is a set of physical obstacles an individual must navigate, often while being timed. Typical courses involve obstacles that participants must climb, balance on, and jump over, with options for varying levels of difficulty, geared towards a wide range of fitness abilities.
