Restaurants and retail food businesses must have an eatery licence to operate in Mississauga. Restaurants sell food to be eaten on-site, like cafés, bars and pubs. Retail food businesses sell food that’s normally consumed off-site. Examples include takeout restaurants, butcher shops and bakeries.
You must be 18 years of age or older to apply. You also must provide the following documents and approvals:

A new licence costs $212.71.
A licence renewal costs $207.41.
No HST is charged on business licence fees.

Licences may not be issued on the same day, if additional items are required.
New applications and renewals require a completed Business Licence Application. Mail your application, the supporting documents and a cheque payable to the City of Mississauga in the amount of the licence fee to:
