Ontario Fire Code

The Ontario Fire Code helps ensure buildings and properties in Ontario are maintained to prevent fires, keep people safe and reduce damage to properties. Property owners, landlords and businesses are all responsible for ensuring compliance with the fire code.

The fire code applies to all existing and new buildings, and property owners, landlords and businesses are all responsible for ensuring compliance.

In the city, the fire code is enforced by Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services, who can issue fines or orders for fire code violations.
