Housing is a top priority for the City. We’re focused on projects that help get more homes built and make them more affordable.

New licence for rental repair or renovation evictions

Effective September 1, 2026, landlords in Mississauga are required to get a licence before they can evict tenants or start repairs or renovations.

Requires second units, like a basement apartment, to be registered with the City.
Short-term rental accommodation license

Requires a licence for short-term accommodation rentals in Mississauga.
