Request an early resolution meeting

Request an early resolution to meet with a prosecutor and discuss a provincial offence ticket without going to trial. You can meet with the prosecutor virtually or in person.

Submit an online request

You can request an early resolution meeting online through the Provincial Offences Act online service.

Submit a request in person

Bring your ticket to the Provincial Offences Court at 950 Burnhamthorpe Road West. We’re open Monday to Friday (excluding statutory holidays), from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

What happens next

You’ll receive a notice letting you know when your meeting has been scheduled. The early resolution meeting process usually takes 45 to 60 minutes.

You’ll meet with a prosecutor to discuss your ticket. Other appointments will be scheduled at the same time as yours. The prosecutor will meet with everyone scheduled for that time before going into court.

You and the prosecutor will then speak with a justice of the peace.

If you’re not satisfied with the outcome of the meeting, you still have the option to request a trial.

If you miss your early resolution meeting, your matter will still be reviewed that day and you may be found guilty and have to pay your fine.
